II Conference for the Psychology of Music and Music Performance
The Spanish Association for the Psychology of Music and Music Performance, in association with the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and SEMPRE, invite you to participate in the II International Conference on the Psychology of Music and Music Performance, which will be held in Madrid from 16th to 18th September 2020. This Conference will take place at the Royal Conservatory, in the heart of Madrid.
This conference will be a new opportunity to present our work and keep up to date with the latest research carried out in the field of the psychology of music. Most importantly, it will be a privileged occasion to get to know each other better, exchange ideas and reflexions that will contribute to our growth as researchers, teachers and musicians, and possibly, to the creation of exciting new projects. At the conference, you will enjoy talks, workshops, symposiums, music, coffee and a lot of positive interaction.
On Saturday, the 19th, we will organise a Post-Conference Day at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid. Jane Ginsborg and Gary McPherson will deliver two workshops that will help teachers and music students benefit from the results of research in their daily practice.
The conference receives the generous support of SEMPRE to contribute to the expenses of the delegates.
We would love to count on your presence at this conference. And, we would love you to invite those colleagues that share our passion for music and for the human being, to join us at this event.
We look forward to meeting you in Madrid!
Keynote Speakers
Prof.Gary McPherson
UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE
Ormond Professor Gary McPherson’s research has provided an increased and deepened understanding of how musicians develop wide-ranging musical skills. Investigating the biological, cognitive and social process involved in acquiring and applying musical competencies, and the personal, environmental and developmental factors that affect musical development, ability, identity, and wellbeing more generally, he is widely accepted as having had very considerable impact on both music psychology theory and, not least, its everyday international practice. The value of this contribution is evidenced by widespread citations, guest lecturing at over 100 universities in around 30 different countries, and well as over 100 keynote presentations at national and international conferences in various parts of the world.
